Refuse and recycling collections

The council collection of waste is detailed on the council websitehttps://www.bathnes.gov.uk/services/bins-rubbish-and-recycling/recycling-and-rubbish-collections

Lansdown Crescent area has a weekly collection for recycling , Thursday morning from 7am.

Please separate cardboard(blue bag) from glass/paper/clear or white plastic green boxes. Food waste should be placed in compostable bags inside the black caddies.

For non-recyclable waste Lansdown Place East/Lansdown Crescent/Lansdown Place West/Somerset Place have weekly collections on Thursday morning. This waste should be in a black plastic bag placed inside the black reusable sack provided by the Council. Please do not exceed this bag as the Council has restricted the amount of non-recyclable waste each property should be putting out. They have done this to encourage more recycling, (especially food waste recycling).

Upper Lansdown mews, Somerset Lane, All Saints Road, Somerset House and Ivy Cottage have weekly collections for all recycling but fortnightly collections for black bag/non recyclable waste, please check with the Council web site for the correct fortnightly dates.

Waste and recycling should be put out onto the street no earlier than 8pm on the evening before or before 7am on collection day.

Residents who need assistance with collections can do so on the Council web site link above. The same link enables you to order any replacement containers or bags if yours are lost.

The Committee members organise a monthly rota to tidy/litter pick our area after collection day. In addition we encourage residents to report any public litter bins overflowing, or fly tipping, or any other problems with our public realm to the Council on www.fixmystreet.com

We also encourage our neighbours to take any recycling containers back inside properties after collection to keep our local area clean and tidy. If any member has any queries about refuse issues in our area please don’t hesitate to contact Rachael Hushon Email
